Hi,
I recently visited the beauty editor of the Solihull News for a treatment and this is what she had to say about Shellac with Pinkies Gel Nails:
Nailing down the hybrid colours
The beauty world has seen manicures, acrylic and gel nails and now Shellac, the first hybrid nail colour, has hit our shores.
Applied like polish, it wears flawlessly for at least seven - and often up to 14 - days of high-gloss shine, and is removed in minutes.
Now, I have tried them all and fab nails and I don’t always seem to gel - excuse the pun!
But Kirsty Hannaford and colleague Natasha Lee of Pinkies Gel Nails in Solihull arrived promptly at my home with their mobile service which covers Solihull and surrounding areas and set to work convincing me.
After tidying up my rather pathetic nails, Kirsty applied Shellac which is essentially a half varnish, half gel hybrid.
It paints on like polish - a base coat, two lots of colour and a top coat, which is then cured under a UV light.
A range of shades are available - I opted for a pretty soft pink, as well as the traditional French.
The formula is thin and flexible like polish, so it not only looks natural, it provides strong natural nail protection with a resilient mirror finish that resists dullness and chipping.
The great thing about Shellac is its easy removal. Simply wrap nails in acetone-soaked cotton wool, wait for 10 minutes and gently slide off.
Suitable for those who want to maintain natural nails, Shellac can also be painted over when it’s time for a change.
And for a special holiday treat why not make like the celebs and try the latest trend from the States with Minx transfers for nails?
They are available in a huge variety of designs and priced at £25 hands and £25 toes.
Pinkies offer NSI overlay gel nails from £28 and infills at £25, Shellac from £25 and french at £28.50 and standard manicures and pedicures priced at £15.
Book any hand treatment and get gel toe nails for just £15. To book an appointment call Pinkies on 07756 942043 or email info@pinkiesgelnails.co.uk.

I was let down at the last minute by a local nail technician and called Pinkies. Kirsty changed her day to accomodate us and we now have THE MOST AMAZING NAILS! I realise now that I should certainly do more research in future. Pinkies really are the best, thank goodness I googled you! My nails look perfect for my wedding tomorrow.
